Warning: Totally Not Tolkien.

So my Christmas binge-watch was Netflix new series The Witcher. I watched the whole of season 1.

A large part of what made it so watchable was not the badly written dialogue (and I'm sure it's excellent in the original books by Andrzej Sapkowski) but the totally sculptural figure of actor, Henry Cavill as the anti hero 'Geralt of Rivia' the totally misunderstood mutant 'monster' Witch Hunter.

The sub-title The worst monsters are the ones we create Sums up the story. The Witcher - Geralt of Rivia, travels a dystopian magic land ridding communities of real monsters lurking in the swamps/dungeons/mountains but actually finding more amongst the folk he meets.

It's easy to see why these books were translated into a very successful video game. And the opening sequence nearly put me off completely as it could translate to look just like one. But maybe that was deliberate by the Netflix producers, who's audience were always going to be largely people who have played the game.

So I came back onto my computer and played with him in my old photoshop and image ready.

The monsters I've created... )

So that's the total arty output of a mis-spent Christmas. Credit to Bailey's Irish Cream 'n ice. ;D
